Maritime RobotX

The Challenge

RoboSeals will be competing in the 2022 Maritime RobotX Challenge in Sydney, Australia.

The team consists of three main groups: experienced mentors taken from UniSA and from industry; a student management team from the SCSRA with extensive experience in robot competitions; and developers from UniSA, the SCSRA, and other SA institutions.

Technololgy

WAM-V 16 ASV

The WAM-V from Marine Advances Robotics provides a portable and stable platform.

UAV

A UAV will launch from the USV and provide "eyes in the sky" for the operations.

VISION

Vision processing employing colour recognition and machine learning algorithms will provide data for navigation.

LIDAR

A "light detection and ranging" (LIDAR) system will map objects around the USV.

COMMUNICATION

The onshore base staion will recive constant data from the USV while it engages in the challenges.

PROPULSION

Multiple electric outboards will work to maneuver the USV through the course.
